PATCH-NOSED SNAKE Salvadora grahamiae Baird & Girard, 1853 

STATUS:  Common

DOCUMENTED COUNTIES:  Hood, Johnson, Parker, Somervell, Tarrant, and Wise

HABITAT:  Western Cross Timbers and Rolling Plains

SUBSPECIES:  Texas Patch-nosed Snake (S. g. lineata Schmidt, 1940)

COMMENTS:  The Texas patchnose snake is common only in the western part of the Metroplex where rocky outcroppings occur.
